You will join the Modelling and Simulation Centre (MaSC), which brings together leading numerical modelling expertise in all areas of engineering and materials science. 

MATTEAR forms part of the BEIS/Innovate UK Nuclear Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Research Programme. It is a 15 month project led by Wood Group Plc, also involving the University of Manchester, TWI, and the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre. Part of MATTEAR involves the development and understanding of EB welding processes applies to large components fabricated from low alloy reactor pressure vessel steels such as SA508 Gr 3 and SA508 Gr 4N, building upon the research conducted at Manchester as part of the NNUMAN EPSRC Programme Grant.
