Technology-Enhanced Learning Manager: Healthcare

University of Bedfordshire - School of Healthcare Practice

Full Time, Fixed Term until 31 October 2020

Location: Luton with some work at other sites

Closing date: 4 March 2018 at 12pm

Interview date: 22 March 2018

The School of Healthcare Practice has recently expanded and upgraded its simulation and skills suites and is now introducing an e portfolio to facilitate practice (placement) documentation and assessment. If appointed to this new post, you would lead on the support of technology-enhanced learning in these areas and line manage the existing technician.

The need to work routinely with academic staff, students and external professionals means that effective communication and training skills are as important as IT technical skills, though these are also an essential requirement. The post will largely focus on the maintenance and development of our simulation (CAE Intuity) and e-portfolio (Pebblepad) software. However, we expect that anyone with good all round IT skills will be able to develop the technical knowledge needed and applicants do not need prior in-depth knowledge of the systems, though this would clearly be an advantage.

Knowledge of the use of technology to support learning is essential and much of your time will focus on this, but the post holder will, in addition, be in general charge of the operational management of the three simulation and skills suites. Students and professionals come to the suites to practice and be assessed on clinical skills meaning good all round organisation and administrative skills are essential. It also makes for an interesting, varied and hands-on environment within which to work, with the added benefit that you are playing a key role in the education of our future healthcare professionals.

Due to the Home Office and UK Visas & Immigration requirements on immigration and Right to Work in the UK, the University of Bedfordshire can only accept job applications from Non EEA applicants who hold a current Tier 1 or Tier 2 (in country) visa and their status allows them to work and reside in the UK with no restrictions.

The University is committed to equality of opportunity and values the diversity of all its workforce and student population.
