SALARY SCALE £39,992- £47,722 (for Grade 8 appointments). Exceptionally, an appointment at Grade 9 (£50,618- £56,950) or even Grade 10 (starting from £58,655)

Applications are invited from early career academics of the highest attainment and potential, who have begun to establish a reputation for excellent and innovative research and teaching, at the forefront of their discipline. The College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh is committed to supporting the next generation of academic leaders in data sciences and artificial intelligence and proposes to appoint up to 10 new Chancellor’s Fellows in Data-Driven Innovation. The Digital Technologies theme is one of three being led by the College of Science and Engineering and the successful candidates will be based in either the School of Engineering, the School of Informatics, the School of Mathematics or the School of Physics and Astronomy, and will be allied to the Bayes Centre for Data Science and Technology.

Applications are welcome from candidates whose research is related to any area of Digital Technologies. We have a particular interest in Big Data, Statistics, through connections with between Statistics and Data Science generally or Geospatial Statistics or Statistics for the Physical Sciences, Stochastic Analysis, Optimisation and Computational Applied Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy.

You will already have established a reputation for the high quality of your data-driven research and innovation. You will have a commitment to develop your skills in on-line teaching at scale at a University level. Colleagues with translational-industrial, public and third sector linkages, international academics and those interested in interdisciplinary collaboration are particularly welcomed. Relocation support and Immigration Fee Assistance is available for colleagues who need to move to take up the Fellowship. This includes practical support for a spouse or partner.
