Research Impact Officer

Brunel University London - College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences

The College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences at Brunel University London is looking for a Research Impact Officer to join its Research Office.

The main duties of the postholder will be focused on appraising possible research impact opportunities; liaising with researchers and specialist staff to develop narratives around impact; providing training and other materials to raise awareness of research impact; supporting the development of University wide systems and procedures to improve the recording and evidencing of the impact of research and assisting with the development of impact case studies and research summaries.  The post holder will also be expected to provide updates on progress with impact case studies (particularly the portfolio of cases under development for external assessment (e.g. REF)) and supporting the College’s preparations for REF.

The suitable candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of the research environment in higher education, and will ideally have experience of supporting academic staff in writing impact case studies. A high standard of written and spoken English, excellent team working skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload are essential.
