Following recent successes, The Global Development Institute is looking to expand through the recruitment of staff in key strategic areas to further increase research income and capacity. This post is one of two Lecturer/Senior Lecturer appointments that we are seeking to make.

This post will focus on the nature of technological shifts, the implications of new technologies for globalisation and global production networks, and the outcomes for labour. In particular it will help strengthen an understanding of how sustainable global production and consumption goals can be achieved.

We anticipate that this post will be filled by a development economist, a political economy or an economic geography specialist with relevant expertise. We are keen to appoint colleagues who are able to demonstrate, and who are committed to, interdisciplinarity in their research.

Lecturer applicants must have a relevant PhD (or equivalent) and some high quality publications and be able to provide excellent teaching.

Senior Lecturer applicants must have a relevant PhD and a proven track record of high quality publications, excellent teaching, evidence of academic leadership, research grant income potential, successful supervision of doctoral students, and experience of administration/management.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as male candidates are currently under-represented at this level in this area, we would particularly welcome applications from male applicants. All appointments will be made on merit.

Please note that we are unable to respond to enquiries, accept CVs or applications from Recruitment Agencies.
