Research Assistant in Eco-Social Urban Mapping

We are seeking a research assistant with an architecture/urban design background to help set up an urban living lab in Reading and to explore the connections between social value and green space. This project is a collaboration between University of Reading and the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. This is an exciting opportunity to develop research expertise and knowledge of participatory architecture and mapping both in Reading and in the Philippines.

The post will be fixed-term for 19 months.

You will have:

  • PhD in the relevant subject area or comparable professional attainment;
  • A background in architecture, design or urban design;
  • Excellent communication skills (written, graphic and verbal);
  • Skills and understanding of map construction and related methodologies;
  • Excellent research-related skills, in particular publishing research and presenting and communicating your findings.
