We welcome applications from candidates who can deliver excellent research and teaching within the subject field of Organisation Studies. Your specific research expertise will develop and align with the interests and mission of Work, Employment, People and Organizations (WEPO) Division, with specific interests in areas such as: new forms of work and organising; social and organisational theory and philosophy; critical management; critical and innovative research methodologies.  You will actively contribute to the development of the discipline of Organisation Studies within the School. The post will include supervision of an adjoined Doctoral Associate in Organisation Studies.

You will be a proven thought leader and researcher with a distinguished publication record at a world-leading level.  You should have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area as well as significant experience in winning external research funding, with an ambition to grow a critical mass of funding and resources and to provide intellectual direction for research appropriate to the position.  You will be able to demonstrate skills in the leadership and the mentoring of academic staff in research, publication and income generation activities, and also have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from within the University and from private and public sector organisations.

In line with the University of Sheffield’s professorial expectations, the post holder will be expected to contribute strongly to academic leadership as well as teaching. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and delivery of our teaching offerings in the area of Management and Economics. The School also engages in substantial interdisciplinary teaching and research, especially integrating engineering disciplines with management disciplines. Therefore, we would welcome applications from candidates who have an inter-disciplinary focus to their teaching and their research.
