Associate Professorship in Literature in English 1660-1830

Combined University and College salary in the range: £46,336 - £62,219 p.a. plus additional benefits including College housing allowance (currently £9,260 p.a.).

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor and Tutorial Fellow in Literature in English with effect from 1st October 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applications for this post are sought from well-qualified candidates with expertise in literature in English of the period 1660 to 1830. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in advanced study and academic research, and to enthuse and inspire students at both undergraduate and graduate level through a variety of teaching methods including tutorials, classes, lectures, and supervision. Candidates must have a doctorate in a relevant field (or have submitted a completed doctoral dissertation for examination by the closing date) and evidence of distinguished research and/or research potential in the area of literature in English 1660-1830. A publication record appropriate to the appointee’s career stage, and which will enhance the profile of the English Faculty in this area, is required, as is evidence of excellence in teaching literature in English in the period 1660-1830.
