Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law

Leeds Trinity University

Leeds Trinity has a lot to be proud of – we’re in sixth place nationally for our teaching quality and the top University in Yorkshire for student satisfaction and employability. We’re looking for talented and enthusiastic people to join our team and be part of our ongoing success story.  Applications are invited for the following post:

Starting salary in the range £32,548 to £47,722 per annum

Leeds Trinity University’s School of Arts and Communication brings together staff expertise across a range of disciplines, has excellent industry links and a strong focus on the development of employability skills in our students.  Our BA Law is an exciting new addition to the Leeds Trinity University portfolio and has been developed in partnership with a diverse group of local organisations to meet their employment needs and those of students.  It also meets the accreditation requirements of the BSB (Bar Standards Board) and SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority). The course will begin in September 2018 and will give students an opportunity to learn the right legal skills and build their links with local employers to get graduate jobs.

The School has an exciting opportunity therefore for an enthusiastic and highly-skilled practitioner to join its teaching team, to act as programme co-ordinator and to help to shape this new programme, further enhance our collaboration with industry and nurture our practical, academic and research expertise in this area.

We are looking to appoint a lecturer with excellent practitioner experience and a strong grasp of the legal skills required to meet the demands of employers and the accrediting body. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the most up-to-date developments in law.  We need a team member who understands the benefits of collaborative working with a broad variety of partners, who can keep our programme fresh by working with our programme-dedicated employer advisory group and who will work to develop new links for the benefit of our students, graduate employability and our research expertise.

We offer an excellent range of benefits including generous holiday entitlements, staff development opportunities and a pension scheme.

Candidates must possess an accredited HE Teaching qualification, have HEA Fellowship, or be prepared to undertake one as part of their probationary requirements.
