A postdoctoral position is available within the research group of Professor Matt Smalley, Director of the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute at Cardiff University to support the work of the lab on autochthonous genetically modified in vivo breast cancer models and their use in preclinical testing of novel therapeutic interventions. The successful candidate will have experience in managing such models and in working with them in preclinical testing. The candidate will also have experience of working with industrial partners to test compounds in these systems. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise final year undergraduates in lab projects as well as postgraduate students and to participate in outreach and public engagement activities

In summary the post holder with join the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute and will conduct research within the laboratory of Professor Matt Smalley using genetically modified in vivo models of cancer and contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University, carrying out research leading to the publishing of work in high-quality journals.
