The Marston lab investigates fundamental mechanisms of chromosome segregation in mitosis and meiosis. The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the Wellcome Trust to determine the molecular mechanisms by which pericentromeric chromatin and kinetochores direct accurate chromosome segregation.

Applicants must have, or will shortly obtain, a PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics and/or molecular biology. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an outstanding academic track record, good communication skills and the ability to work as a team. Applicants with experience in yeast genetics and biochemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.
