A Research Associate post has become available within the Internet of Things (IoT) Research projects FloodPrep and Landslip. 

You will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Undertake all theoretical and practical aspects of the big data and IoT research related to FloodPrep and Landslip projects.
  • Lead the design, engineering, testing and evaluation of the IoT data analytics platform.
  • Produce high-impact peer reviewed publications in top systems research journals and conferences.
  • Interact with a multidisciplinary research team.
  • It is expected that you will be involved in the work of the wider research team at Newcastle University and will be encouraged to contribute to the life of the School.
  • You will also hold a PhD in Computer Science together with a knowledge of distributed systems and algorithms.
  • The successful candidate will be integrated into an agile research team and will need to be able to work collaboratively. It would be desirable to have experience of supervising MSc/BSc student projects.
