The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand - Team Bath. The Sports Science and Medicine Manager is a key managerial role, influencing the future direction of sports science and medicine delivery as part of the leadership team of the Physio and Sport Science Centre. You will need to retain and develop partnerships, contracts and general commercial business to ensure the sustainability of the Sports Science and Medicine Team, and be responsible for the practitioners within the Team.

You will plan and co-ordinate the delivery of services to Team Bath athletes and squads, performance partners and customers. You will also contribute to the positive key working relationships with internal performance coaches as well as with staff in other departments or external organisations such as Department for Health, English Institute of Sport, Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme and other key partners. 

This management position will directly line manage Lead Practitioners in the following strands - physiotherapy, nutrition, physiology, massage and strength and conditioning. You will also co-ordinate internal continued professional development requirements and activities of all practitioners and quality assure service delivery.

You will ideally hold a relevant degree, professional qualification/accreditation in one of the sports science and medicine areas, or a professional management qualification. 

This is a part-time position (0.6 fte - 22 hours per week) covering the maternity leave of the current post holder starting in June 2018 for approximately 7 months. Ideally, the hours will be worked over a minimum of 4 days per week.
