Technical Manager for Seed Certification


  • Do you have what it takes to manage more than 3,000 field plots?
  • Are you willing to learn about 10 different crop species?
  • Could you help train 300 crop inspectors per year?

If the answer is yes, then NIAB want to hear from you.  We are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager for Seed Certification.  This role will play an important part in the delivery of the seed certification scheme in England and Wales which is heavily focused on customer service (APHA, seed trade, licensed crop inspectors, etc).  Main duties include the management of field plots, co-ordination of crop inspections and responding to issues arising in the seed certification scheme. 

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated team player with good communication skills who has experience in field trials.  Applicants should have a degree in Agriculture or related subject or relevant industry experience.  Current crop inspector’s licenses would be beneficial, but full training will be given if required.

The successful candidate will be based in Cambridge, with travel throughout the UK required.  Some international travel may also be required.
