The IAB is one of Europe's most innovative and exciting Higher Educations institutions for the performing arts. The IAB delivers UK validated Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees to students from over 35 different countries.

The IAB is seeking to appoint a highly versatile, talented and professionally experienced voice and speech tutor to take a leading role in the delivery of our programmes at both BA and MA level. We are looking for an artist and teacher who has:

  • Extensive experience of teaching Phonetics, Vocal Theory and the Practical Voice to students from both Acting and Musical Theatre courses.
  • Extensive experience to teach accents in reference to the International Phonetic Alphabet, Received Pronunciation and Standard American accents.
  • Experience guiding students through explorations of heightened and non-naturalistic texts. 
  • Knowledge and expertise in Linklater training or appropriate comparable methodologies.
  • Experience of the UK Higher Education environment and Module Leadership.
  • Experience of teaching voice and acting skills to non-acting students.
  • Experience guiding students in their construction of Voice Reels.
  • An aptitude for, and experience of, teaching and training the leading performers of the future.
  • The ability to integrate advanced professional performance and creative practice with current theoretical and conceptual debates.

To be in a position to visit the IAB for a 3-4 day intensive hand over activity during either June or July is essential.

To be qualified to Masters level is essential and, a PGCE and/or membership of the HEA is desirable.
