Postdoctoral Research Assistant

University of Dundee - MRC PPU

Activity-based proteomic profiling of E3 ligases in disease-relevant signalling pathways

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the lab of Dr Satpal Virdee to apply powerful probe technology that allows the direct measurement of E3 activity in cells (Nature Chemical Biology 2016, Nature 2018, in press). The project will involve the preparation of cellular samples which will be profiled for E3 ligase activity using procedures established in the Virdee lab. Samples will then be analysed by quantitative mass spectrometry. E3 ligases found to undergo distinct regulation will be further investigated by cell biological and biochemical approaches. Experience with mass spectrometry and the ubiquitin system would be highly desirable.

The successful applicant will join an international team in an exciting and interactive environment, equipped to the highest international standards. For further details, please consult
