International Mobility Officer

University of Salford - Academic Business Development Office (ABDO)

Part of the International and Regional Development Directorate, the International Office is responsible for supporting the delivery of the University’s International Plan, focusing on three international aims: growth and diversity, global impact, and global citizenship. 

The International Office supports the Academic Schools in a wide range of global engagement activities, including: international recruitment for on-campus and off-campus students, managing overseas representatives and partners, working with services across the University to support the international student journey, from enquiry and application to enrolment, as well as supporting international opportunities for students and staff across the University. The International Office is led by the Associate Director: International Office, and supported by the Head of International Recruitment and Head of International Partnerships, who manage a team of staff delivering targets on international recruitment, international partnerships, and mobility. 

The International Recruitment team works closely with the Academic Schools in planning and implementing regional strategies to increase international student recruitment, and enhance the University’s international reputation and global reach. International Recruitment is led by the Head of International Recruitment who manages a team of Senior International Offices and International Operations staff to support the Academic School’s market-by-market activity to achieve on-campus student numbers, as well as recruitment from the ever-increasing number of partnerships 

Reporting to the Head of International Partnerships, the International Mobility Officer will play an active role in the day-to-day operations of incoming and outgoing mobility programmes (Erasmus+ and exchange) for students and staff, as well as developing and implementing successful fee-paying study abroad programmes to provide a sustainable income stream. 

The International Mobility Officer will have a strong knowledge of mobility and global citizenship, and have the drive and enthusiasm to provide a first-class service to internal and external stakeholders including: students, academic schools, and partner institutions. The International Mobility Officer will have the ability to encourage international experiences and review, refresh and communicate international experience opportunities through Salford curriculum.
