Project Manager, Myeloma Patient Registry

Myeloma UK

6 months Fixed Term

Flexible location – travel required

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma, a bone marrow cancer for which there is no cure, but an increasing range of effective treatments.

Our broad and innovative range of patient services cover every aspect of myeloma from providing information and support, to improving standards of treatment and care through research and patient advocacy and policy work.

We are working with some key stakeholders to scope the development and implementation of a UK-wide patient registry for myeloma.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to play a vital role in driving this scoping process.  At the end of 6 months, the Project Manager will have produced a robust business case which carries stakeholder support, together with a credible funding plan which will be used as a basis to secure external funding sources.  If successful, there is potential scope for the term of post to be extended accordingly into the development and implementation phases.

You will need excellent project management, communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.  You will have previous experience in a project management role with evidence of successful delivery.  Experience of working with patient data for health research or health care would be an advantage in this role.  The role will require UK wide travel on a regular basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a secretariat to the Myeloma Patient Registry Working Group, helping to drive its aims through a rigorous project management approach
  • Researching and reporting knowledge, evidence and opinion on the patient registry landscape and opportunities for myeloma
  • Developing a robust funding model for a registry and supporting the prospecting and development of funding opportunities
  • Generating a detailed and costed project plan including clear timescales and milestones
  • Working effectively with a variety of stakeholders

If you are excited by the opportunity to work with us and have the skills and experience necessary for this key role, we want to hear from you.
