Electro-Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer with good mechanical and electrical skills to join the small engineering team at Sir William Dunn School of Pathology.

The major work will involve servicing, setting and maintaining standards and modifying or designing various pieces of electronic equipment for use by researchers. The postholder will also assist with general onsite maintenance and PAT testing. It is required that the successful applicant will join the on-call team's rota (on a one in six basis) that provides 24-hour emergency support. An additional payment is offered for this support role.

You should have a good level of education, such as BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a combined electrical and mechanical subject; a mechanical and electrical experience in an industrial or similar setting, some experience/knowledge of PAT testing as well as working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety requirements. Good communication skills, ability to follow strict protocols and willingness to learn the control strategies and operation of building management systems are essential.
