Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is one of Europe’s largest graduate recruitment programmes providing candidates with exciting opportunities to work on key strategic projects. KTP projects are based on a partnership between a University and a company or organization with a recently qualified graduate delivering the project with support from the academic team within the university. For this KTP, you will be working with University of Kent and Eurostar staff.

We are seeking a MSc graduate for this full-time, 2-year KTP between University of Kent and Eurostar Limited, where you will be involved in the development and application of simulation and optimisation techniques to tackle operational challenges and support long-term strategic aims.

As the Associate, based in Eurostar headquarters in London, you will benefit from a generous training and personal development programme including the opportunity to gain a CMI management qualification.

As Logistics Analyst you will:

  • Rview the Eurostar’s current operational processes and challenges, and future strategic vision.
  • Develop and validate baseline simulation models of passenger flows given current station layouts and passenger management procedures.
  • Train Eurostar analysts in the use of simulation and optimisation modelling.
  • Analyse the long-term costs and benefits of recommended solutions and present to senior management.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • MSc (with Distinction) in operational research, management science, business analytics, or a close allied discipline.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistical modelling techniques.
  • Familiarity with commercial simulation software (e.g. SIMUL8, Arena, AnyLogic)
  • Ability to work at the interface of academia and business.
