The College of Science is seeking a new Director of Education and Students to oversee the strategic development of the student experience within the College. The College is rapidly developing and dynamic, with a commitment to providing outstanding education in core scientific disciplines and professions.

As a member of the College Leadership Team, and reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor, you will play a key role in defining, implementing and monitoring our Education Strategy.

You will be an experienced academic in a relevant discipline, with a driving commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, the vision and experience to develop an innovative strategy in all aspects of student education, and the skills to influence, motivate and inspire academic staff to fulfil that vision. Your background will include academic management, substantial experience as an outstanding teacher, innovation in teaching and learning and leadership of others.

This post provides an opportunity for a senior academic with a strong track record in teaching and learning to develop a managerial career at associate dean level. A Chair is available to candidates with an appropriate track record in pedagogical or subject area research.

The Director will also be associated with of one of the College’s Schools (Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Life Sciences, Lincoln Institute of Agri-Food Technology, Mathematics and Physics, National Centre for Food Manufacturing, Pharmacy) dedicating up to 20% of their time to academic duties in the school.
