Interview Date: Thursday 17th or Friday 18th May 2018

Aston Law School, a constituent part of Aston Business School, has a distinctive mission – the provision of commercially intelligent legal education – reflecting our position in a leading international business school and in a university focused on maximising the employability of its students. We currently offer two qualifying law degrees and also deliver law modules across a wide range of business and management programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We have ambitious expansion plans and are now seeking to recruit a Lecturer to support these plans by providing additional teaching, research and enterprise expertise in the area of Commercial Law.

An ability to contribute to the teaching and research of Commercial Law (broadly defined and including, but not limited to: arbitration & dispute resolution or domestic or international sales) is essential.

You will have a strong track record of research (appropriate to career stage) and a well-developed plan of research that covers the remaining period of the REF cycle and beyond. You will have a PhD in law (or PhD near to completion) OR equivalent, relevant professional and/or academic experience.

The post is available at Grade 8 or 9 on a full time or part time basis.

This post is being offered in conjunction with a Senior Lectureship in Commercial Law. If you would like to be considered for both levels of appointments please complete the application process for both advertisements.

The post is available to start in June or September 2018. Informal enquiries about this post should be addressed to Dr Ryan Murphy (Dean of Aston Law School) by email r.murphy1@aston.ac.uk or telephone 0121 204 3347.

For Lecturer posts, the minimum period for which initial appointments are made is normally five years, with the possibility of transfer to a continuing appointment.
