Newcastle University recently launched its ACTION for Impact suite of enterprise and innovation focussed training and development activities for research students and staff. The Careers Service’s Enterprise Team is seeking to appoint an experienced Enterprise and Innovation Adviser to work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate, develop, promote and deliver the EPSRC funded Innovation Acceleration Account (IAA) elements of the programme, supporting early career researchers (ECRs). This will involve the creation of intensive training events to develop innovation and commercialisation skills and knowledge, as well as the delivery of one-to-one coaching to support the development of emerging projects.

You will be a motivated, innovative and passionate enterprise and entrepreneurship educator educated to degree level. A coaching qualification and/or a higher degree in business, enterprise or education are highly desirable. Experience of organising and delivering researcher development activities with groups and individuals is essential as is an up-to-date knowledge of innovation, enterprise skills and entrepreneurship in a Higher Education context.

You must be people-centred and able to manage a complex portfolio of duties and relationships, working effectively in a team using your initiative. The ability to establish and maintain effective communication with a range of audiences is essential as is the ability to be flexible, adaptable and manage change positively. Although this post is based in the Careers Service, it is expected that you will support ECRs across the University, working with senior staff and supporters on and off campus.

This position is fixed term until 31 March 2020.
