Lecturer in Cyber Security

We are looking for scholars in the broad area of cyber security, covering science and engineering of cyber security and information assurance. Specific topics of interest include the security and privacy of emerging applications of the internet-of-things and cloud computing, the protection of cyber-physical systems, system and network security, computer forensics, intrusion detection, authentication systems, cyber risk and economics, usability and human aspects of cyber security.

The new appointment will play collaborate with the Southampton Cyber Security Academy (CSA), a newly formed partnership between the University of Southampton and key industrial partners in the Cyber Security area (http://www.soton.ac.uk/csa). The CSA provides a unique environment that facilitates use-inspired and multi-disciplinary research, education, training and outreach. It draws together expertise from across the University, including Computing, Electronics, Law, Management, Mathematics, Sociology and Psychology. The new academic will also play a leading role in defining and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in cyber security. You will have a PhD or equivalent/equivalent professional qualification and experience in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related area, a strong publication record, and the enthusiasm and drive to carry out research and teaching, in an exciting, highly professional, multidisciplinary environment.
