Research Fellow (79181-038)

University of Warwick - Warwick Medical School

Clinical Trials Unit

3 Years Fixed Term Contract

Warwick Medical School (WMS) invites applications for an exciting new post in the area of health economics, arising from the award of new research capacity building funds. Working under the supervision of Professor Stavros Petrou and Dr Jason Madan, the post-holder will support clinicians based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) in developing and conducting primary research that involves innovative health economics methodology and has significant clinical impact. The methodological research is likely to be in areas where senior health economists at WMS work, such as Bayesian analysis or outcomes valuation, but could also be in areas of particular interest to the post-holder. There is also the potential scope to target clinical areas in which the post-holder has existing experience or interest, as long as they match with the clinical research expertise at UHCW.

The post would be therefore be equally suitable for an applicant who has experience in primary health economics research and wishes to use that experience to develop innovations in methodology, or an applicant with previous methodological research experience that they wish to apply in practice.

In addition to developing new research, you will be encouraged to participate more broadly in Warwick Medical School’s existing portfolio of health economics research and teaching activities. Training will be provided to develop skills to undertake high quality applied and methodological research across a number of different study designs.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should initially be directed to:

Prof Stavros Petrou:, 0044 2476 151124
Dr Jason Madan:, 0044 2476 151853

Interview date: 10th May 2018
