Applications are invited from Specialist Registrars to work as a Research Fellow in Medical Education.

This is a 2-year ‘Out Of Programme Experience’ in which the post holder will work with the undergraduate academic team from Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The project focuses on the design, development, and assessment of a novel frailty curriculum in the undergraduate programme. A core component of the post will be the opportunity to register and study for a higher degree (MD) through Brighton & Sussex Medical School, subject to the submission of an approved proposal to the School. The Research Fellow will primarily work with their academic mentor and be based at Mayfield House, University of Brighton.

The successful candidate will be medically qualified and a specialist trainee in elderly medicine with experience of undergraduate teaching, curriculum design, and medical education research.

The position would suit a specialist trainee in Elderly Medicine wishing to gain additional experience before applying for academic positions or work in research environments or consulting; as well as someone hoping to increase their publication record.
