The Research and Planning Team in the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences divisional office seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to the role of Impact and Innovation Officer.

Your primary responsibility will be to project manage the operation and delivery of the University’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) which the Division manages on behalf of the institution. You will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the delivery of this high priority area, and to take responsibility for significant elements of the work. You will develop an excellent understanding of how to enhance and facilitate the generation of impact from research and the associated policy issues (both internal and external), and to appreciate the breadth of engineering and physical sciences research that takes place across Oxford, through close working with researchers and academics.

You will also manage a range of impact and innovation related activities in the division, including servicing the division’s Impact and Innovation Committee, and the development of appropriate indicators and metrics for research impact. Working with the Assistant Registrar (Planning and Research Impact), the division’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) Manager and Science Writer, you will also help to support the development of impact case studies for the REF2021 submission. This role will enable you to engage with, and provide advice and recommendations on, external debates on impact and innovation-related policy consultations/developments.
