Lecturer in Singing and Musical Theatre

The IAB is one of Europe´s most innovative and exciting Higher Educations institutions for the performing arts. The IAB delivers UK validated Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees to students from over 35 different countries.

The IAB is seeking to appoint a highly versatile, talented and professionally experienced Singing and Musical Theatre lecturer to take a leading role in the delivery of our programmes at both Foundation and BA level. We are looking for an artist and lecturer who has:

  • Extensive experience teaching:
  • Group singing technique and repertoire for musical theatre and commercial music (a background of Estill Voice Craft is essential)
  • Private singing lessons (technique and repertoire coaching) at all levels
  • Acting Through Song
  • Ensemble Singing
  • Experience of guiding students through explorations of musical theatre repertoire as a Musical Director or vocal coach.
  • Additional specialisms in other forms of:
  • Excellent piano/sight reading skills essential
  • Experience as a piano accompanist for assessments, auditions and concerts
  • Experience in musical direction or leading musical theatre projects
  • Songwriting for commercial music
  • An outstanding professional record as either a performer or Musical Director/vocal coach.
  • An aptitude for, and experience of, teaching and training the leading performers of the future.
  • The ability to integrate advanced professional performance and creative practice with current theoretical and conceptual debates.

To be qualified to Masters level is essential and, a PGCE and/or membership of the HEA is desirable.
