Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Technology Law.  This subject area aims to strengthen its teaching and research in the field of IT law and digital markets, and the new appointee will assist in particular the collaboration between the Law School and the Edinburgh Futures Institute.

The candidate should have experience in IT law, e-commerce and a track record or demonstrable interest in the regulation of new and innovative technologies and business models, including, for example, financial technologies, digital markets, blockchain technologies, legal technologies, data science and/or AI. The successful candidate will teach on our introductory courses in IT and e-commerce law, both on campus and online distance learning, while being encouraged to develop distinctive new offerings in their own field of expertise that complement the School’s existing courses, among others, in AI, robotics and law; AI in legal practice; cybersecurity and law.

The role is available on a full time (35 hours per week), open ended basis, with a proposed start date of 1st August 2018. The appointment will be made at either Lecturer (Grade UE08) or Senior Lecturer (Grade UE09) depending on qualifications and experience.

Salary: £39,992- £47,722 per annum (Grade UE08) or £50,618 - £56,950 per annum (Grade UE09)
