Senior Lecturer in Medical Education Research (Clinical or Non Clinical)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade . The salary range will be Grade 9: £55,163 - £59,981 per annum.  CL9: £54,207 - £66,550 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL Medical School (UCLMS) is committed to delivering world class education, research, and scholarly activities within medical education that benefit patients and society, healthcare practice and practitioners, and the healthcare education community nationally and internationally.

This newly created post, within the Research Department of Medical Education (RDME), reflects the Medical School’s ambition to enhance its global research profile. RDME is the only medical education research unit to make an independent submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2014. Our research focuses on social justice and medical assessments – of selection, competence, fitness to practice and medical revalidation. Since REF 2014 the Department has grown significantly. We have five early career researchers, a new lecturer, a new senior lecturer and three professors in medical education. We also have a growing number of PhD students and industry/ grant funded scholarships.

If the appropriate medically qualified candidate applies then appointment can be on the Consultant Clinical Academic payscale, this ranges from £76,761 - £103,490 per annum, depending on seniority.

The post holder will have extensive experience of working and researching in an education setting and an established track record in education scholarship. Their research focus will be aligned to the RDME research strategy and their research and publishing excellence will allow them to contribute to the growing research outputs and impacts of the medical school.

We are actively recruiting for an individual who has extensive quantitative research skills to complement our team’s expertise.

The post holder will also provide senior academic input into chosen postgraduate education activities of UCL Medical School post that is available to those from a clinical or non-clinical background.
