Database Manager

Job Purpose

You will have lead responsibility for designing, programming, modifying, managing and maintaining the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit's database management systems and data collection systems including data coding and supporting analysis, as well as supporting Unit web development initiatives and providing support and expert assistance to Unit staff and their external stakeholders. You will support the Unit's database servers, data management systems, provide technical support for research projects and resolve user problems, working under the direction of the Population Health Research Facility (PHRF) Manager, the Head of PHRF and liaising with the Unit IT Manager. You will contribute to key management groups in the Unit, ensuring that database systems and processes are aligned with the Unit's strategic research needs.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 34,520 - 38,833 per annum.

This position is funded for 2 years.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
