Bangor University School of Healthcare Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring or experienced Lecturer to join our team. Candidates will possess a Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area. A desirable requirement is current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, however we will accept applications from candidates registered with another professional body, or no registration. A passion for healthcare improvement is essential.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post, and the School would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers.

This post is available on our teaching and research career track. The School offers a vibrant and successful research context for less experienced researchers within quality improvement to develop their potential. Our interests in Improvement are concentrated in Implement@Bangor, an implementation science research programme, recognised by external stakeholders as internationally excellent. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio, including at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The School's Mission is to mobilise its expertise and experience to generate new solutions to health challenges. We do this by leading health care research, scholarship, teaching and learning that is of the highest possible standard, quality and value to service users, practitioners and stakeholders. We aim to be an international example of best practice in partnership-working with students, professionals, health and social care services, and policy makers. We pay attention to demonstrating the links between our research and teaching activities, and in providing our students with excellent learning experiences that equip them with the ability to succeed in their professional careers. We have a thriving research environment, and achieved an excellent outcome in the REF, placed in the top 20 of 94 Universities entered in Unit of Assessment 3. Bangor University was the only University in Wales to be awarded a GOLD standard in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)

Successful candidates will be expected to commence as soon as possible.

Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.

Closing date for applications: Friday 27th April, 2018.

Informal enquiries about all posts can be made to Professor Christopher Burton, Head of School (tel: 01248 382556; e-mail: c.burton@bangor.ac.uk).
