You will support and develop the delivery of Early Phase Trials in Paediatric Oncology at the unit in Great North Children’s Hospital. You will be strongly encouraged to promote new trial development, including working with pre- and early-clinical research groups within the Wolfson Children’s Cancer Research Centre at the Northern Institute for Cancer Research, and with national and international trials networks. You will support the delivery of high quality medical service within the specialty and also support the acute clinical paediatric oncology service at the Great North Children’s Hospital.

You must hold GMC registration and be eligible to work in the NHS as a doctor. Research Qualifications –either MD or PhD would be desirable especially if they involve clinical research. CCT in paediatrics with sub-specialty in paediatric Oncology or equivalent would be desirable.

You will be experienced in clinical practice of paediatrics and paediatric oncology. In addition direct experience of clinical research and clinical trials is essential. A background of clinical trial development would be desirable.

This is a new post which has been created to support further development of the established early phase clinical trial initiative in Paediatric Oncology at the Great North Children’s Hospital and for the North of Britain.
