Project Administrator (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a full-time Project Administrator to join a team, led by Dr Roman Hovorka, which is working on research studies evaluating the artificial pancreas and other therapeutic interventions in type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

The Artificial Pancreas Group is based at the Institute of Metabolic Science located at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.  The role holder will work as part of a small team composed of clinical staff, scientists and administrators, and will provide administrative support to the project team, in particular to the Study Coordinators.  The Project Administrator will be the first point of contact for participating clinical sites and collaborative partners and will ensure that comprehensive records are kept of transactions and communications.

The successful candidate will be proficient in using the MS Office suite, will have a good standard of spoken and written English and have good interpersonal and communication skills.  Good organisation, accuracy and attention to detail are essential attributes.

An important part of the job will be the administration of a system of stock control for the equipment which is used in our research and an aptitude and interest in the use of technology in medicine will be an advantage, although no technical expertise is required.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
