Lecturer in Construction and Project Management

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic lecturer to enhance teaching and research capability in the broad area of construction and project management.

The successful applicant will have the skills to develop and deliver teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are also looking for a strong commitment to scholarship and the development of a research and publication profile in a specific area of expertise within the broad field of construction and project management.

This appointment is within the School of the Built Environment, an interdisciplinary centre of excellence with internationally renowned expertise in the design, construction, operation and use of buildings and infrastructure. We are one of the leading Schools in the UK, ranked 3rd in in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework for research impact, with 83% of our research rated as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

You will have:

  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area (equivalent qualifications and/or experience would be considered)
  • Doctorate in a built environment or related discipline.
  • Experience of teaching and learning practice in a higher education context (professional experience in construction/project management would be considered)
  • Broad knowledge of construction and/or project management, with interests in specialist areas (e.g. operations management, risk management, construction contracts, etc)
  • Excellent presentation and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues across the university.
