The UCL Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment is the UK’s largest and leading multidisciplinary Faculty of the Built Environment, covering architecture, construction and project management, planning and environmental design and other specialist fields.

BMADE - Bartlett Manufacturing and Design Exchange, the making and production hub within the Bartlett School of Architecture is looking to recruit a Technical Services Officer to be the first point of call for students, staff and researchers that use our facility.

This is a customer facing role, where you will ensure that all users of the services are directed to the appropriate place for machine, tool and bench use, together with acting as a shop keeper, ordering and maintaining stock/materials and managing service sales and bookings.

You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, and have experience of using a cash register/till, managing sales and creating and maintaining records and stock inventory.

As a skilled communicator, who remains calm in a busy environment, you will be able to liaise with students and all levels of staff professionally, but assertively. Your experience of providing an efficient and professional service will enable you to interact effectively with the many users and contacts at all levels of the School.

A good level of numeracy, knowledge of health and safety and a friendly and approachable manner are also essential requirements of the role. You will be used to working both independently and within a team.

Ideally, you will have experience of fabrication and skilled craft and in depth knowledge of mechanical machinery.
