The College of Life and Environmental Sciences brings together the excellent teaching and research of Biosciences, Geography, Psychology and Sport and Health Sciences. All four disciplines are ranked in the top 10 in the Sunday Times University Guide 2014, making the College one of the strongest of its kind in the UK. Sport and Health Sciences was ranked 1st in The Complete University Guide 2016, 2nd in the 2016 Guardian University Guide, achieved a 99% student satisfaction in the 2016 NSS and 3rd in Ref 2014 for research quality and intensity.

This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available from September 2018 on a fixed term basis until September 2021.

The role will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching allocated, specifically you will have responsibility for supporting the design, development and production of teaching and learning material and deliver across a range of modules within Sport and Health Sciences.

The successful applicant will possess a breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion), or equivalent qualification/experience, of the core knowledge relating to sport and exercise sciences in order to teach and support learning on exercise physiology, and strength and conditioning related modules. The applicant will be able to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics; teamwork skills to work in collaboration with existing group members, an active and supportive approach to teaching and learning, the attitude and ability to engage in continuous professional development, the aptitude to develop familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning and enthusiasm for delivering undergraduate programmes. In addition the successful applicant will be required to act as a supervisor for Undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, contribute to the administration of the discipline, and any other tasks as directed by the director of education.

Salary will be £26,495 - £33,518 per annum pro rata subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
