An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Trials Data and IS Manager (permanent post) to join the UKCRC registered Derby Clinical Trials Support Unit (Derby CTSU). The Derby CTSU actively supports high quality, multi-centre studies in a variety of disease areas with UK-based and International Sponsors.

Reporting to the Head of Medical Statistics and Data Management, you will lead the data management of clinical trials and information systems services of Derby CTSU.

You will work closely with the investigators, statisticians and trial managers to carry out a variety of data management activities including, but not limited to, development of data management plan, CRF design, annotated CRF, user manuals and completion guidelines, data quality assessment, queries management, database lock and archival.

You will lead the development, test, release and maintenance of validated clinical databases / eCRFs for assigned trials. You will also be responsible for setting up the study randomisation using online systems.

The role includes having responsibility for leading and developing the data management team, including a data manager, IS manager and clinical research data clerk. You will be accountable for the data management services, have complete oversight and timely delivery of clinical trials data and documentation according to agreed timelines and quality expectations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual, who will be able to work flexibly and contribute to the further improvement and development of the Derby CTSU. You will be a good team member with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and motivation for continuous personal development. You will possess the following qualifications:

  • At least three years of clinical trials data management experience.
  • Experience of leading a data management team (preferably within a CTU).
  • Knowledge of applicable international guidelines regarding Data Management of clinical trials.
  • Experience of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, e.g. Dacima, Macro.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training on data management aspects of clinical research.

Please note this position requires the post holder to travel nationally, when required. Flexible working hours and working from home is possible.
