Communications and Events Assistant - Pathways for Prosperity

The Blavatnik School of Government is looking for a talented Communications and Events Assistant to join the Secretariat for Pathways for Prosperity Commission, funded by the Gates Foundation.

This project will bring together a high-level group of frontier thinkers to inject new perspectives, provocative ideas and compelling evidence into debates on inclusive growth, governance and development in an era of technological change, and to offer concrete, meaningful policy solutions, including for some of the toughest challenges afflicting the poorest in developing countries.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Events, this new post will provide administrative and logistical support for Commission events, communications and outreach activities. The Commission is likely stage up to circa. 19 events, a significant number of which may be international in nature.

The postholder will work with the Head of Communications and Events, the Communications and Events Officer and the wider team to support the delivery of a range of activities related to the Commission’s engagement, promotional and communications needs. They will assist the with the creation and dissemination of promotional materials; assist with  organising meeting agenda and minutes, scheduling and arranging conference calls, and managing email traffic; arrange venues, catering, accommodation, travel, and any other relevant requirements for Commission events; and help maintain tracking systems for each event.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should be a self-starter, with experience of fast-moving and demanding environments and a proven ability to work in a collaborative manner. Relevant work experience and demonstrable experience using technology in a professional communications capacity are essential.

Please note that the availability to work flexibly, including outside normal office hours and at weekends on occasions, will be required for this role.
