Procurement Analyst and System Development Officer

University of Oxford - Finance Division, Financial Systems Support Centre

We are seeking to appoint a Procurement Analyst and System Development Officer. This is a dual role within both the Finance Purchasing Department (UPD) (0.6) and Financial Systems Support Centre (FSSC) (0.4) as part of the Development team who are responsible for delivering improvements to the University’s financial systems. Whilst these two teams are located in different buildings, they are only around 300m apart and you will be based in each team for the relevant days. Your main responsibility within the Purchasing team will be to provide analytical support and expertise through the provision of management information to UPD and internal customers to enable them to determine business strategy and help to ensure the University achieves the best value for money.  In addition, you will work with members of UPD to identify opportunities to enhance value for money and encourage departments to comply with University purchasing guidelines and strategies. You will also lead the UPD data classification project.

You will also work with buyers and internal customers to design and deliver management information, including that for measuring supplier performance. This will include defining requirements and using the BI tool to develop those solutions that are fit for purpose, accurate and complete. You may need to train other members of the team on basic analysis of the data supplied and complete “how to” guides.

For FSSC the role is to support the Finance Systems Development Manager by providing functional specifications, test plans and other documents to the developers, who may be internal or third party, to enable them to deliver solutions that meet requirements; and help support those solutions.

In addition you will be expected to work with the Development Manager to test the delivered solutions against requirements and support end-users in the user-acceptance stages. You will also be asked to support end-users

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Word. You will be a team player with an excellent eye for detail; organised, and have a flexible outlook. In addition, you should possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

You will also be required to upload a CV and supporting statement which explains how you meet the selection criteria for the post.
