Lecturer in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (Teaching and Research)

Cardiff University - Cardiff School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of UK’s longest established schools of pharmacy and a leading centre for research and education in pharmacy, drug discovery and medicines development. We are a constituent school of the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, one of the most comprehensive faculties of health sciences and biomedicine in the UK. Our mission is to advance knowledge that has impact and influence. Our outreach and engagement is global: we have an excellent record of entrepreneurship, strong international collaborative working with many key research groups, industrial partnerships, and influence in professional and policy-making bodies in the UK and around the world. In the national research assessment (REF2014), our research was ranked in joint first place among the UK schools of pharmacy for overall quality and ranked second for research impact.

We have an exciting and innovative agenda for both research and teaching and are looking to recruit an individual of the highest capability who can enhance the School’s research, innovation and teaching activities. We wish to appoint a highly motivated and innovative scholar who will complement and build upon the School’s current strengths.

We invite applications from PhD-qualified applicants with relevant research experience and interests. Successful applicants will be expected to develop independent programmes of research of international standing aligned to the ‘Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics’ research theme and contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, enhancing our vibrant environment for both world-class research and exceptional student learning experience. For teaching contributions, we are particularly interested in individuals able to contribute in areas related to the biological basis of disease and/or drug treatment. The School provides support and development to enable early career researchers to achieve their full potential.

This position is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended.
