An exciting opportunity has risen for a Laboratory Assistant to work within the MRC Epidemiology Unit, a department of the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. The Unit studies the genetic, developmental and environmental factors causing obesity, diabetes and related metabolic disorders and contributes to their prevention.

The post holder will be storing and retrieving sample according to project's demands, re-arraying samples and aliquoting for the measurement of biomarkers. Further responsibilities include helping out with the day-to-day running of the laboratory and accurately recording data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

The successful candidate will have a good general education with at least A-level or equivalent qualifications and some experience of working with biological samples. We are looking for an individual with good organisational skills, attention to details and a desire to work with cutting edge technologies in a fast-paced team.

This is a four month fixed-term contract with an ideal start date of May 2018.
