Senior Animal Technician/Team Leader

We are looking to recruit a Senior Animal Technician for a facility based in Central Cambridge.

As a member of a hard working team you will support the unit's senior management by supervising a team of technicians, within a barrier facility, with the care and welfare of rodents housed in IVCs. You will undertake scientific procedures associated with the production and maintenance of genetically altered rodents, and will support the senior team with the training of new and trainee technicians. You will be required on occasion to assist research staff during surgical procedures.

You will have Home Office Licence modules A - C and hold a Home Office Personal Licence, and completion of Institute of Animal Technology (IAT) Level 2 (desirable). Experience working within a designated establishment with rodents, as well as specific use of IVC's, breeding and maintenance of genetically altered rodents is essential. Additionally, proven supervisory/team leader experience and the ability to use a computerised data management system are also required.
