Lecturer Dance & Choreography

The School of Liberal and Performing Arts are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled academic practitioner who can lead dance and choreography modules on the Performing Arts degree. The successful candidate must have excellent academic credentials plus relevant experience in the field of dance practice. Performing Arts, has been successfully delivered at the University of Gloucestershire for ten years and in that time has grown significantly.

We are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified individual, with a passion for Dance, who is able lead modules in ballet and choreography and contribute to the delivery of jazz and modern dance techniques. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to contribute to theory modules in dance and research methods and be able to supervise undergraduate dissertations. Although this post is primarily required to support the Performing Arts degree there may be some requirement to contribute to the BA degree in Dance and to work as part of a wider dance team.

The successful applicant will need to be able to deliver both practical and theoretical aspects of dance and choreography and be able to get students to performance standard within the context of a commercial dance setting.

The successful applicant will have a proven record of accomplishment within the Dance subject area as a dancer, choreographer or educator.

This is principally a teaching post, although the expectation is that all staff ensure their teaching is underpinned and supported by contemporary research and scholarship, for which an appropriate time allowance is available

Closing date for Applications: Sunday 6th May 2018
Interview Date: Friday 25th May 2018
