Senior Infrastructure Systems Specialist

University of Huddersfield - Computing and Library Services

Permanent, 37 hours per week.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and technically capable individual to join the Computing and Library Services Core IT Infrastructure team.

You will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge and experience of working with infrastructure systems and applications within a complex multi-vendor environment, where service availability expectations are demanding and often pressurised.

Working with colleagues, you will be developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting on premise and cloud based systems and services. You will need to enjoy using your analytical skills to pre-empt issues and resolve problems. All aspects of your work must demonstrate rigour, quality, and attention to detail.

You will need to be flexible, able to work independently or as part of a team and, as required, lead project teams. You should have the capability to adapt to new technologies easily and have the experience and creativity to develop these into solutions that contribute to continual service improvement.

You must be able to communicate well with a variety of stakeholders in differing contexts and articulate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Candidates who can demonstrate a strong mix of technical expertise with excellent customer awareness and service orientation will have a distinct advantage.
