Catering Supervisor

The Directorate of Estates and Facilities Management is recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to join our team, based at our Headington Campus.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about delivering a world class service to our clients and customers, is able to work as a team but also willing to act on their own initiative and acts with honesty and integrity.

As Catering Supervisor you will:

  • Ensure the highest level of customer care is adhered to at all times
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and to strive to exceed customer expectations to ensure the return of our customers
  • Organise/ delegate daily work tasks between all employees including
  • Control food stocks in catering outlets and arrange appropriate hygiene displays and pricing and stock rotation of food products as directed
  • Observe and comply with all unit procedures relating to stock, cash and security, reporting any issues to the line manager
  • Maintain temperature and other relevant records as required and to report any variance to your line manager
  • Make sure you are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene.

You should have:

  • Previous experience supervising frontline teams within a similar busy environment
  • Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of customers and also able to communicate with team members and organize their work load within a busy work environment
  • Able to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and unit policy statements, with regard to uniform, personal hygiene, health and safety
  • Able to comply with H&S legislation and ensure it is followed by the team
  • Experience in cash handling, cost control and stock take
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
