Laboratory Technician

Loughborough University is seeking to appoint an experienced Technician in the multi-disciplinary School of Science. Based in the new state-of-the-art STEMLab facility, the post holder will primarily provide technical support to staff and students in the Physics Teaching and Research Laboratories.

Supervised duties will include: maintenance of a range of laboratory equipment, ensuring physics teaching laboratories are prepared and maintained according to timetabled sessions and implementation of laboratory Health and Safety procedures. This role would suit someone with a scientific background, ideally physics related, and some knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations and practices. The role may require some flexibility in working hours so as to ensure timetabled sessions are well supported.

The successful candidate should be a highly motivated individual with good practical and communication skills who works well as part of a team.
