Senior Library Assistant

We are looking for a Senior Library Assistant to support Manchester Met staff and students across a range of subject areas.

You will join the Library’s customer-facing Helpdesk Team, assisting with customer enquiries face-to-face, by phone, email and Chat as required. This role also requires the undertaking of a variety of administrative tasks to support the Science & Engineering subject team.

Library Services is Customer Service Excellence (CSE) accredited and we are committed to delivering excellent customer service enhancements.

Please note that this post is a fixed term contract until July 2019, working throughout the year with the following pattern: Monday - Friday 08.45 - 16.30, including regular evening duties on one evening per week until 19.00 and occasional Fridays and weekends on a rota basis.

About you

You will have a keen interest in, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and will have excellent communication skills, a hands-on approach to all tasks, and a keenness to provide help and support to students and colleagues.

You must also have a proactive approach to the development and adoption of new systems within the Library. Ideally, you will also have experience of using a range of library systems and resources, and IT packages.
