We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Centre of Endocrinology at William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine, Queen Mary University of London. Together with the Department of Endocrinology at Barts Health NHS Trust, we constitute a world leading centre for endocrine research, teaching and clinical care. The Centre for Endocrinology is focused on the mechanism of disease of various endocrine conditions. The emphasis is on translational research by combining strengths and expertise of basic and clinician scientists working together. 

The primary role of the successful candidate will be to contribute a research program on human pituitary adenomas and in vitro and in vivo models. The candidate will work as an effective member of the team within the Department for Endocrinology under Professor Márta Korbonits. The candidate will ensure the smooth running of the research project. The postholder will be primarily based at the Academic Endocrinology Centre at Charterhouse Square, but may need to carry out duties at other locations within the Medical School.

The appointee will hold a PhD or equivalent in biology-related subject and will have experience in in vitro and in vivo studies and including primary cell cultures.

The Centre offers newly refurbished laboratories, cutting edge facilities and is located in the heart of the City of London in close proximity to the Barbican Arts and Music Centre. The Centre is closely linked to the Endocrine Department at Barts and the London NHS.

The post is full-time position over 2 years with a possibility to extend. Starting salary will be in the range £36,677- £41,991 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits package includes 30 days annual leave; defined benefit pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
