Student Engagement and Placements Officer

University of Kent - School of Anthropology and Conservation

The School of Anthropology and Conservation is seeking a Student Engagement and Placements Officer on a full time and on-going basis to provide high level support to students, staff and placement providers.

As a key member of the School's administrative team, and working in collaboration with key stakeholders, you will ensure that student experience remains paramount and in line with the School's core values.

As Student Engagement and Placements Officer you will:

  • Provide advice and guidance to students, staff and external placement providers related to the professional placement year.
  • Promote, co-ordinate and oversee the delivery of a range of outreach and alumni events, initiatives and activities.
  • Develop on-brand, Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) compliant communications in an effective and creative fashion.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Good first degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of working within the Higher Education sector or with student placements in industry/commerce.
  • Experience of gathering, analysing and evaluating information using databases and spreadsheets.
  • Experience of organising events and public speaking.

The School of Anthropology and Conservation is unique in recognising the importance of the fundamental link between human society, human evolution and conservation of the natural environment.

The School is multidisciplinary and offers a range of BSc and BA undergraduate programmes including Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Human Ecology, and Wildlife Conservation. At MSc/MA level the School offers taught programmes in Evolution and Human Behaviour, Environmental Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Visual Anthropology, Ethnobotany, and a range of pathways within the MSc programme in Conservation Science Management.
